I'm in the register, are you?

It's a must! Any concious voter in this country should check their name at:
http://www.elections.am!!!

The elections site is horrible, one thing that completely pissed me off was the fact, that the website is using the Armenian ANSI encoding instead of Unicode. I even had to install the already ancient Armenian NLS 2.0 support in order to be able to type my name in the search box. However, when my name, address and the polling station number poped up I felt more then rewarded for my efforts.

WTF

Is it legal to publish such type of information?

P.S. I easily searched through DB with my Windows ArmUnciode Driver. So guess no need in ArmNLS.

Re: WTF

vay! Actually I have just installed my windows xp, and I had to install the ARMNLS because I didn't have any Armenian ANSI fonts installed and my browsers were not configured to read ARMNLS based pages, hence, I couldn't even read what was written on that stupid page, let alone to try and search anything.
Ah and yes.
Found a relative, which first sold an apartment (which is mentioned in current list) in far 1995, then left country in 1996 :)
Still, have no idea, about how it was reregistred/registred, etc..
Պահոՙ... this needs more research to see how many more "Myortviye dushi" are there in the lists.

However, what I'm more concerned these days is the fact, that, just like with the E-dram database, but on a larger scale, anyone can find out my name, birthdate, address information, which has serious implications in terms of privacy as you have duly noted!
Yep, I'm also quite unhappy with that..
You've seen "Yntroghneri Register" part on the site?
Just download 41 zip files, and you have information on all (well almsot all ;) ) citizens.
The data in Excel files is again in Armscii, but here you go:
http://fonts.tarumian.am/index_programs.php
Just paste a macro code in file, and Run macro Fast and easy :)
Put in in DB for easier search..

So, it's better not, to lose our Bank Plastic Cards, from now on :))
looks like my card is safe... but also ...
that I don't exist
vay qoranam yes! so what are you going to do about it? If you consider the perspective of keeping your cards safe - I'd say - nothing. However, if you plan to stay and live in this country - you should apply to the CEC and get registered. From their site I don't see how would it be possible to do this :(
This site is pathetic, to say the best.
I didn't manage to do a search neither with FF nor with ie. Trying to download the excel files and find something in my Suse package to open them...
Actually you can search using both the Unicode and ANSI keyborad driver. I was even able to search and find my name using Armenian Phonetic Unicode keyboard driver and Konqueror on ASPLinux. The problem was setting up the browser to display the text on the website correctly. With unicode I don't need to set up any fonts, etc.
